REACHSTACKER simulator
Advanced training solution for training reachstacker operators, focusing on safe and efficient container handling, stacking, and yard operations.
The vehicle is modeled after KALMAR DRG 450
functionalities:
Driving and navigation at storage yard
Practice driving and navigating within a container yard, while learning to work with a Terminal Operating System (TOS) for container placement and management.
Familiarization with the vehicle's interior design and controls
Familiarization with the vehicle's interior and control system, allowing operators to get comfortable with the handling and functions of the reachstacker.
Learning to operate the spreader
Learning to operate the spreader involves mastering the attachment and handling of various types of containers, including standard 20-foot and 40-foot boxes.
Attaching a container
Attaching a container involves securely connecting the spreader to the container's corner castings, ensuring a stable lift and precise placement during handling operations.
Attaching a load with slings
Attaching a load with slings involves securing the slings to the load's designated lifting points, ensuring a stable and balanced lift for safe and efficient handling.
Driving and maneuvering with a load
Operate the reachstacker while carrying a container, requiring careful control to maintain stability and prevent tipping. This includes navigating tight spaces, making precise turns, and adjusting speed to accommodate the weight and balance of the load, ensuring safe and efficient handling throughout the maneuvering process.
"Perun" VR simulator
Instructor’s position
The instructor’s station is an integral part of the simulator, allowing for monitoring the training from the perspective of the trainee or a drone camera. It enables the instructor to set and track exercise progress, adjust weather conditions, and create emergency situations
Student management, results analysis
The Perun simulator is equipped with a student and instructor management system. Instructors can evaluate and comment on trainee exercises, but the system also automatically assesses exercises, generates reports, and records video footage of the training sessions.
scene editor
The scene editor provides greater flexibility than pre-prepared exercises in the simulation. This extension of the simulator allows instructors to create custom scenarios using a variety of elements, loads, vehicles, and characters. It enables the development of tailored exercises and training programs.
„multiplayer” module
This module enables simultaneous training on multiple machines within the same environment. Operators can perform procedures that require collaboration, such as two cranes synchronously lifting a single load. This extension allows operators to virtually practice complex tasks that necessitate teamwork.
Recommended simulation platforms
Simulation in VR technology
Full immersion in virtual reality (VR) for realistic training.
A platform integrated with a VR application
Two or three degrees of freedom, allowing every movement of the machine in the VR application to be mirrored on the platform, enabling the trainee to feel the machine's movements.
full immersion
A sense of depth provided by VR goggles, actuators, and highly realistic graphics.
Versatility
One platform for various machines, with the ability to easily reconfigure for different machines.
mobility
A lightweight, easily transportable platform on wheels that allows for quick and convenient setup and teardown.
Interchangeable panels with control levers
Component swapping without tools during operation (Hot Swap), allowing for quick adaptation to any machine through interchangeable parts. The platform is equipped with original components from real machines.
Case study
why it's worth it?
increasing safety
The reachstacker simulator allows for training in a safe, controlled environment, eliminating the risks associated with real container operations.
Reducing the cost of errors
Trainees learn to handle problems without incurring costly errors in real-world operations.
savings
Investing in a simulator eliminates the need to rent real reachstacker for training. It significantly reduces costs related to equipment maintenance and operation.
Improving operator skills
Regular VR training enhances the skills and techniques of experienced operators, playing a crucial role in reinforcing health and safety procedures and preparing for emergency situations.
realistic experience
With advanced 3D modeling and sound design, the training is highly realistic, which enhances participant engagement and learning effectiveness.
Monitoring and analyzing progress
The software for generating reports and maintaining a student database enables precise tracking of progress and results, allowing for effective training management and optimization of educational programs.
Training flexibility
The simulator offers the ability to train under various weather conditions and on different aircraft models, enhancing the versatility and adaptability of the training.
